New Choir, by James Lee

Featured in last year’s Guest Concert, Palo Alto’s The New Choir, was so well received that we invited them back for another performance. Their program, “Morning and Evening Songs” will include works from the Renaissance of Monteverdi to the 20th Century of Samuel Barber. The pieces the Chorale shared with The New Choir last year were also so well-received that we will our add voices to theirs in three pieces this year: Giovanni Gabrieli’s Jubilate Deo, the serenely beautiful Abendied by the Romantic composer, Josef Rheinberger, and the beloved folk song of North and South Korea, Arirang, which was sung at this year’s Winter Olympics’ opening ceremony. All together, a full palette of song not to be missed.
