Dear Music Friends,
The date for the Santa Cruz Chorale Guest Concert with San Jose’s The New Choir is fast approaching. It is our great pleasure to welcome once more this fine ensemble directed by Eileen Chang. The program will celebrate the joy, promise and hope of the dawning day, and the mystery and melancholy of the night. The soft light of the setting sun filtering through the beautiful stained glass of Holy Cross Church offers the visual backdrop for the rich palette of works The New Choir has prepared for us. The Chorale will join The New Choir to sing Jubilate Deo by Giovanni Gabrieli, the beautiful Abendlied by Josef Rheinberger and the Korean folk song Arirang.
