For the first time ever, two local classical music institutions – the Santa Cruz Baroque Festival and the Santa Cruz Chorale – are joining forces to present a concert that is sure to delight audiences!
Christian Grube, Artistic Director of the Santa Cruz Chorale and Professor Emeritus of the Berlin University of Arts, and Linda Burman-Hall, Artistic Director of the Santa Cruz Baroque Festival and Professor of Music at the University of California, Santa Cruz, have put together an exciting program featuring choir, baroque orchestra, organ, and soloists (Suzanne Duvall, Daniel Plaster, and Paul Murray), with beautiful Holy Cross church as the perfect setting. The program includes Handel’s glorious Chandos Anthem “My song shall be alway”, Bach’s uplifting cantata “For God so loved the world” (sung in German), Purcell’s celebratory “O Sing Unto the Lord”, and Handel’s ever-popular “Organ Concerto in F Major”.
