The Santa Cruz Chorale Guest Concert is in a Week!

Dear Friends of the Chorale,

The Santa Cruz Chorale’s Guest concert is in a week! Do you have your tickets yet? The concert, entitled “Morning and Evening Songs,” is on Sunday, March 18th at 4pm in the sanctuary of Holy Cross Church. Our guests, The New Choir, will present pieces from a range of musical periods spanning several centuries.

The program will begin with The Spheres, from contemporary composer Ola Gjeilo’s Sunrise Mass. The New Choir will then treat us to works by Mendelssohn, Orlando di Lasso, Claudio Monteverdi, Jonathan Dove, Malcolm Singer, and to a traditional gospel, My Lord, What a Morning.

In the second half, the audience will hear Romantic classics such as Brahms’ In Stiller Nacht and Rheinberger’s Abendlied, interspersed with works by Samuel Barber, Joshua Elberdin, and John Wilbye. The New Choir and the Chorale will sing together in the Rheinberger as well as in Jubilate Deo by Giovanni Gabrieli and the famous Korean folk song, Arirang.

Please join us for this enjoyable and relaxing afternoon of “Morning and Evening Songs” with our guests, The New Choir.
