The centerpiece of this year’s “Christmas with the Chorale“ is Austrian composer Heinrich Biber’s Magnificat for orchestra and choir. Our colorful program also offers a wide variety of music composed through the centuries to celebrate Christmas, including works by Byrd, Scheidt, Elgar, Britten, Tavener, Biebl and others. The Monterey Bay Sinfonietta will again join the Chorale, and, as is our tradition, the concert ends with favorite carols from around the world.

Our director has often been asked when the Chorale will perform Brahms’ Requiem—and the answer is in May 2024! We can hardly wait to share this magnificent work with those of you who already know it, and introduce it to music lovers who have not yet heard it.
